In 2022 ESI added a second 157' diameter bin (2 million bushels) to this grain terminal facility. To feed the this new bin, a 900 ton crane was required to set the Hawthorne-Seving 30,000 BPH fill conveyor and bridge.
As a second phase of a facility expansion project, ESI added a new 30' x 20' x 14' deep truck receiving pit with a fully-integrated 20,000 CFM dust system and fully enclosed building. The new pit includes six dust pickups, a ladder gate including 4 openings along with an Andco actuator allowing for percentage control of the inbound grain flow. The hopper feeds a pair of 20,000 BPH Hawthorne-Seving drag conveyors that transfer grain to a 20,000 BPH Hawthorne-Seving receiving leg (constructed during phase I of the project).
Steel grain storage was added to this cooperative's facility in several phases, including a 157’ diameter bin, (2) 105’ diameter bins, and (2) 62’ diameter bins, totaling 3,320,000 additional bushels. As each bin was constructed, it was built with potential future expansion in mind — optimal site layout and material handling integration.
ESI's experienced millwright crews have decades of experience expanding and building grain handling and storage facilities. This bin fill conveyor bridge required multiple cranes to set it into its final position on top of an 850,000 bushel bin.
This new Behlen 157' diameter bin holds 2 million bushels and is fed by a 40,000 BPH Hi-Roller belt conveyor.
