In 2022 ESI added a second 157' diameter bin (2 million bushels) to this grain terminal facility. To feed the this new bin, a 900 ton crane was required to set the Hawthorne-Seving 30,000 BPH fill conveyor and bridge.
Steel grain storage was added to this cooperative's facility in several phases, including a 157’ diameter bin, (2) 105’ diameter bins, and (2) 62’ diameter bins, totaling 3,320,000 additional bushels. As each bin was constructed, it was built with potential future expansion in mind — optimal site layout and material handling integration.
This aging grain terminal facility had untapped potential for this Midwest cooperative. ESI was hired to handle the series of expansion projects where (3) 90' diameter and (2) 105' diameter steel bins were added along with a new 30,000 BPH truck receiving/grain transfer system, dust system, and upgraded 30,000 BPH Hi-Roller transfer conveyors.
ESI transformed a row of run-down vacant houses into a major grain storage, truck receiving, drying, and rail loadout upgrade facility expansion. Phase 1 consisted of 1,725,000 bushels of steel storage, truck receiving, and 30,000 BPH material handling. Phase II added 775,000 bushels of storage, a manlift, and a 7,000 BPH dryer. A 50,000 BPH rail loadout scale followed soon after.
This new Behlen 157' diameter bin holds 2 million bushels and is fed by a 40,000 BPH Hi-Roller belt conveyor.
